National Bagel Association Announces First Annual Bagel-Eating Contest

Bagel fanatics, rejoice. The National Bagel Association (NBA), is hosting its first annual National Bagel-Eating Contest, where contestants have an opportunity to win some serious dough.

The contest will take place at the Bagel Expo in Huntington, Long Island, on February 7, 2016, two days before National Bagel Day. Contestants pay a $25 to enter the contest and will compete for the $500 cash prize in a five-minute all-you-can-eat bagel contest. Participants, who must be at least 18 years to enter, can register on the Bagel Eating Contest website.

Andrew Hazen, Founder & CEO of the National Bagel Association, tells LATF USA, "The launch of the National Bagel Eating Contest was a no-brainer. Millions of people love bagels and given the success of other competitive eating contests we knew we had to step-up, create and launch the event!"

General admission tickets for the Bagel Expo are also on sale: $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Attendees will be able to taste and sample different flavored bagels and enjoy bagel art and bagel-themed games.
