The Lone Star Stack is made with two all-beef patties, applewood-smoked bacon, American and white cheddar cheese, a sweet onion barbecue sauce, pickles, and grilled onions, all between two slices of Texas toast.
The burger won out over more than 25,000 entries in a crowd-sourced contest, with over 200,000 votes cast on http://mcdburgershowdown.com/. Many of the entries were “spicy, large, and, of course, loaded with bacon,” reports Brand Eating.
The other finalists included the Lone Star Bronc (two all-beef patties, American and pepper jack cheese, grilled onions, pickles, applewood-smoked bacon, shredded lettuce, and sweet onion barbecue sauce), the DobleTXMeet (two-all beef patties, Swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms and onions, applewood-smoked bacon, herb seasoning, and both chipotle and regular ketchup), the McSqually (two quarter-pound beef patties, American cheese, applewood-smoked bacon and Big Mac sauce), and the Gourd (shredded lettuce, applewood-smoked bacon, guacamole, quarter-pound beef patty, American cheese and barbecue sauce).
The Lone Star Stack is available through August 28, 2016 at participating Texas locations. Prices vary by location.
