McDonald's Staff Throws Lonely Regular Customer A 93rd Birthday Party

Ever since his wife passed away, Harry Scott, an elderly British man with an affinity for Happy Meals, eats alone at his local McDonald's in Cumbria, England, at least six times a week. Harry is an extremely popular customer at the McDonald's in Workington, Cumbria, and even has his own table. For his 93rd birthday, the staff at the fast food franchise decided to throw the elderly man a surprise party, bringing a tear to the eye of almost every customer, especially Harry himself.

McDonald's staff celebrated by putting up balloons and banners, and even bought him whiskey and shortbread. The kicker: The franchise announced that Harry can now order his favorite Happy Meals for free anytime he comes in.

"The kids who come in here are mine as I don't have any of my own," Harry told Unilad. "It's company for me. When they threw the surprise party I had to wipe my eyes."

The man, who lost his wife over six years ago, has made the regular trip to McDonald's since 2013 to make friends with the staff and customers. He normally comes in for lunch, but will sometimes come back for a second round during dinner.

"He's a one-off. We get regular customers but he's one that stands out," crew member Jack Holliday said. "He's bubbly and full of life, especially for a 93-year-old."
