Le Garage Launches Brunch This Weekend

Le Garage, a Brooklyn eatery in Bushwick run by a mother and daughter team that opened last fall, is set to enter the NYC brunch scene beginning this weekend. This Saturday, Le Garage will offer brunch on weekends from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Catherine Allswang, Le Garage co-owner and Cuisinière, says, "I did a real traditional American brunch at Le Café de Mars in the early nineties in Paris, and now I feel there is a new way of cooking brunch. It's not your typical American brunch anymore, it's more adventurous!"

Allswang is no stranger to the restaurant industry and has been cooking and running restaurants in Paris and San Francisco for more than 30 years. Rachel, her daughter, is an interior architect, and together the two came up with the concept for the restaurant.

Brunch highlights include pork cheek sandwich, pain perdue with roasted pineapple, croque monsieur, and, of course, croque madame. Cocktails include a Bloody Mary made with Tito's vodka, tomato juice, cornichon juice, and more; mimosas; and 'The Morning After,' featuring Campari and grapefruit.
