Lay's Do Us A Flavor Contest Winner Revealed: Southern Biscuits And Gravy Come Out On Top

The mystery is over: We finally know which bizarre, fan-created flavor has won this year's U.S. rendition of the Lay's Do Us a Flavor contest. The snacking populace has spoken and the winner is Hailey Green of Noblesville, Indiana, who won our hearts (and taste buds) over with her Southern Biscuits & Gravy creation.

Each of the four finalist flavors, which also included "Kettle Cooked Greektown Gyro," "New York Reuben," and "Wavy West Coast Truffle Fries" were inspired by regional flavors. Green will receive her choice of a $1 million prize, or one percent of her flavor's net sales through the end of July 2016. The runners-up walk away with a $50,000 prize.

The Daily Meal staff predicted that Southern Biscuits and Gravy would win the yearly contest; it was a runaway "flavorite" in our office, with an overwhelmingly creamy, almost cheesy taste.

"As we bring this year's competition to a close, one thing is certain: America is a country full of amazing flavors," said Jeff Klein, vice president of marketing, Frito-Lay North America. "We congratulate Hailey on her victory, and all of the fans who will continue to enjoy this winning flavor on store shelves."
