Jesse Schenker Celebrates Five Years Of Recette With Weeklong 'Greatest Hits' Menu And New Sunday Supper Series

In celebration of the fifth anniversary of Recette, Jesse Schenker's acclaimed West Village restaurant, the New York City chef is launching two special dinner series.

Beginning Sunday, January 11, and continuing every Sunday thereafter, Schenker will offer a Sunday Supper Series consisting of four courses for $40, and the entire Recette menu is fair game. Then on Monday, January 12, and continuing throughout the week, Schenker will launch the "Greatest Hits" menu, a tasting menu of seven of the restaurant's most popular dishes during its five-year history, for $80.

The tasting menu will include a celebratory glass of sparkling wine and an amuse-bouche to start.

Recette's "Greatest Hits" menu will include: beef carpaccio with burrata, tomato jam, porcini puree, basil seeds and watercress; onion espuma with oxtail, consommé, and Gruyère cheese; scallops with local beets, Brussels sprouts, caviar, and beurre blanc; spaghetti with sweet shrimp, uni, chili, and tomato sauce; roasted foie gras with chicken skin, and a peppercorn biscuit; pork bell with romesco, turnips, and rock shrimp; and s'mores with graham cracker ice cream, toasted marshmallow, and "hot" chocolate ganache.

Jesse Schenker is also the chef and owner of The Gander in Flatiron and is the author of the memoir All or Nothing: One Chef's Appetite for the Extreme, which details his career as it intersected with his drug addiction, the recovery from which led to Recette. Chef Schenker has also twice hosted The Daily Meal's own Celebrity Chef series, most recently in September.
