Jared From Subway Will Pay Up To $1.4 Million To Child Pornography And Assault Victims

Earlier this year, former Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle, who famously lost more than 200 pounds on a diet of Subway sandwiches, was outed as a sexual predator in possession of child pornography and crossing state lines to pay for sex with minors. The shocking revelation led to the sandwich-loving public figure's spectacular downfall. Subway has since cut all ties with their former spokesman.

This week, Fogle is expected to plead guilty to his crimes, and has been ordered to pay $100,000 each to his 14 victims. He will also spend at least five years in prison, but could be sentenced for up to 12.5 years.

Fogle became a popular figure 15 years ago when he began appearing on Subway commercials following his impressive weight loss. He was a household name who even made appearances at elementary schools as part of his nonprofit Jared Foundation, which was later found to not have issued a single grant to schools, as promised in the organization's mission statement.

According to CNN, 10 of the 14 payments have already been made to the underage victims, which will be utilized for counseling, support and other assistance. A final hearing is scheduled for November.
