'I Was Eating The Most Beautiful Chocolate Cake,' Trump Recalls During Syria Bombing

This week, President Trump made the controversial decision to launch 59 unmanned missiles into Syria after the totalitarian Assad regime used chemical weaponry against its own citizens in the town of Khan Shaykhun.

Trump discussed the incident in an interview with Fox News on April 12 during which he recalled that when he made the decision to bomb Syria, he was sharing "the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake that you have ever seen" with Chinese president Xi Jinping at his Mar-A-Lago resort.

"I was sitting at the table, we had finished dinner," Trump told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo. "We're now having dessert, and we had the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake that you've ever seen, and President Xi was enjoying it."

Trump continued to recall the critical moments of the evening, even momentarily forgetting which country they had just bombed.

"So what happens is I said, 'We've just launched 59 missiles heading to Iraq, and I wanted you to know this,'" Trump said in the video. "And he was eating his cake. And he was silent."

He then said that President Xi finished his cake and later reported that it was "OK" that Trump made the decision that he made.
