The struggling Planet Hollywood chain is about to get some life breathed into it thanks to Guy Fieri. The Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives TV host has been tapped to revamp the sandwich menu at Planet Hollywood Observatory in Orlando’s Disney Springs.
Planet Hollywood in Walt Disney World just reopened as the newly christened Planet Hollywood Observatory, and the sandwich and burger menu is being taken to Flavortown. Fieri’s special sandwiches and burgers include the pimento grilled cheese, which is stacked with three-cheese mac and cheese, Fieri’s signature SMC, or “super melty cheese,” and pimento cheese on garlic-buttered sourdough bread. Other menu items include Championship Pulled Pork topped with bourbon-brown sugar barbecue sauce and Donkey Sauce (of course), and Fieri’s favorite Mayor of Flavortown burger topped with pastrami on a pretzel bun.
“Guy fits in with the profile of our guests,” Robert Earl, Planet Hollywood founder and CEO, told Nation’s Restaurant News. “They feel so comfortable with him that they’d like to hang out with him…. “It’s really tasty and gooey and healthy. I was joking about the last bit.”
