Giulio Adriani And Sue Torres Team Up For New Restaurant, Espoleta

Neapolitan pizza expert Giulio Adriani has closed his Manhattan location of Forcella for an upcoming project called Espoleta with prominent celebrity chef and television personality Sue Torres.

Torres, whose highly acclaimed Mexican restaurant Sueños closed earlier this year, will serve as Espoleta's ongoing consulting chef, creating a menu of authentic Spanish cuisine created from locally sourced ingredients, as well as cooking in-house one day a week.

So far, Espoleta's menu will feature items like octopus, seasonal croquettes, green chorizo, celery root gratin, tamarind-glazed steak, handmade empanadas, and tostadas, among other dishes.

In addition to a wine program in which wine will be available by the half-glass, the restaurant will also eventually have a juice bar, "Meatless Monday" specialties, a "Pinchos Happy Hour," and more special programs.

"Forcella" and "espoleta" mean wishbone in Italian and Spanish, respectively, and the new project is an homage to the old. Espoleta is scheduled to open in early December.
