A Food Truck for Dogs Is Making Its Way Through California

Pets can hang out in the dog lounge between treats and training

Starting today, pets in California will have a chance to experience the convenience of street food through a food truck that caters to dogs. The Good Stuff Pet Truck will offer healthy treats, gourmet dog food, and free dog training with a canine expert.

The food truck concept launched last year and traveled from New York to California, according to the company website. This month, the food truck will tour various locations in Northern California through April 12.

“When dogs are fit and trained using positive reinforcement, they’re happier dogs,” Steve Dale, animal behavior consultant working with Good Stuff Pet Truck’s tour, told The Sacramento Bee. “If they’re overweight — and more than half of dogs in the United States are carrying extra pounds — they’re more likely to develop health issues like Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer.”

The dog food truck is sponsored by American Pet Nutrition, Vita Bone, and Supreme Source pet food.

The first stop will be today, April 3, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 1110 Front Street, south of the Public Market Building in Sacramento, California.
