Fire Shutters April Bloomfield's Salvation Burger For Weeks

On Monday night, a fire at Salvation Burger forced diners and guests from Pod 51 hotel, where the restaurant is located, to evacuate, leaving behind half-eaten burgers. The fire began at around 7:30 p.m. and the FDNY got it under control within the hour, reports Eater. About 78 firefighters came to the scene to take out the fire.

A restaurant representative says no one was injured, however the restaurant "was severely damaged," and as a result will be closed for the next few weeks for repairs.

April Bloomfield and her longtime business partner Ken Friedman opened Salvation Burger just a few months ago, in February, as a sequel to Salvation Taco.

Though the fire originated at Salvation Burger, the cause is not yet known.
