Diablo Sauce Is Coming To Taco Bell On May 5

This year, Taco Bell is celebrating Cinco de Mayo in a big way: Diablo sauce.

 

Made with a variety of peppers, including aji panca, chipotle, and chili, Taco Bell's newest — and limited-edition — sauce is meant to "pack a punch with a 'we don't give a shishito attitude.'"

 

The latest hot sauce launch also comes with 12 new phrases with slightly more bite: "keep up," "get on my level," "you asked for it," and so on.

 

The sauce will only be available for a short time, but could get a much bigger release if fans respond well, which seems pretty likely. In the company's own words, "We're all familiar with Verde, Mild, Hot and Fire, but if there's one thing we keep hearing from our fans, it's that they want more heat."

 

We gave first dibs to the most devoted Taco Bell fan on The Daily Meal team, and he confirmed that Diablo sauce will be a big hit with serious spice lovers — it has a short, intense burst of heat that definitely trumps the rest, and still retains the right "Taco Bell vibe."
