David Chang Will Be Bottling Momofuku's Own Ssam Sauce Very Soon

David Chang and Momofuku announced via Twitter today that they will be releasing their own bottled Ssam sauce: a Korean chili sauce. No words yet on the details, but Chang's intriguing tweet does say "feel my heat," so it's sure to be seriously spicy.

Could Ssam bump Sriracha as the next highly addictive spicy condiment? You can already find the traditional Korean chili sauce on top of Momofuku's famous Bo Ssam: brown sugar-glazed pork butt topped with ginger scallion sauce and Ssam sauce. According to this New York Times recipe, Chang's Ssam sauce is made with a fermented bean and chili paste known as ssamjang, chili paste, sherry vinegar, and grapeseed oil.

This is not Chang's first line of bottled sauces. Williams & Sonoma used to carry Momofuku's clay pot sauce and Korean braising sauce, although it looks like the products are no longer available.  Keep checking back on the Momofuku products page for updates.
