Danny Meyer's New Restaurant, Untitled, Opens At The Whitney Museum Today

Union Square Hospitality Group, under the helm of Danny "Mr. Shake Shack" Meyer, is opening its newest restaurant today, May 1. Untitled will open in the newly renovated Whitney Museum space with executive chef and managing director Michael Anthony, who is also the executive chef of Gramercy Tavern. He will lead the kitchen at Untitled, as well as the more casual Studio Café, with chef de cuisine Suzanne Cupps, who most recently served as sous chef at Gramercy Tavern.

"I've been fortunate to cook in some of the best kitchens in the world," said chef Anthony in a statement, "but this moment is truly special for me because Untitled is the first restaurant that I've helped conceive from scratch. I couldn't be more proud to embark on this next step alongside members of my Gramercy Tavern team."

Untitled will serve unique American cuisine featuring chef Anthony's "thoughtful sourcing, relentless seasonality, and impeccable craftsmanship." The menu will reflect the neighborhood, the nearby High Line, and the artistic innovation inside the museum itself. Menu-wise, the menu will feature snacks and smaller plates like crab and pickled pepper fritters, as well as larger dishes like grilled monkfish, black garlic, and lobster sauce and ruby red shrimp ravioli with nettles and mushrooms.

Although the restaurant won't be vegetarian, the menu options will be vegetable-focused, with items like grilled leeks and citrus-pasilla sauce; roasted cauliflower, curry and crushed black sesame; and asparagus, turnips, guanciale, and pecorino.
