Chipotle's Asian Fast-Casual Brand Is Rolling Out Burritos

Chipotle's Southeast Asian kitchen concept, ShopHouse, is rolling out a pretty familiar menu item at multiple locations: burritos.ShopHouse will be testing out wraps/burritos alongside other customizable menu items such as salads and rice and noodle bowls. You can now get the tortilla wraps stuffed with Asian-inspired proteins, vegetables, sauces, and garnishes in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and Chicago, according to Nation's Restaurant News.

If the test is successful, the Asian burrito could be brought to all 15 ShopHouse locations.

"[Customers would] bring in tortillas (some from nearby Chipotles) and ask if we could wrap the ShopHouse ingredients burrito-style," Chipotle spokesperson Chris Arnold told Eater. "Our ShopHouse team taste-tested that hack and really liked it, so they decided to give it a try."

Chipotle has been spending a lot of time investing in other fast-casual chains, including the make-your-own Pizzeria Locale, and it'll be opening the first location of Tasty Made Burgers in Ohio later this year.
