Limited-Edition McDonald's Kentucky Burger Features Bourbon Sauce

Created by local franchise owners in "Kentuckiana," a term that refers to the Louisville metropolitan area and surrounding counties, including some in Indiana, McDonald's locations in the Kentucky area have introduced a special, limited-edition tribute burger called the Spirit of Kentucky.

Available now through May 30 across 99 local restaurants, the Spirit of Kentucky features a quarter pound of beef with bacon, tomato, lettuce, onions, and, finally, bourbon sauce.

Or, at least, bourbon-flavored sauce — the burger contains no alcohol, as McDonald's was quick to clarify on Twitter.

Booze with your fast food order might not be that far off, however, and is already quite common overseas.

"We are excited to give our customers a new premium sandwich that is inspired by the local flavors of Kentuckiana,"local franchise owner Frank Ward said in a press release. "At McDonald's, we like to give all of our customers something to love, and the Spirit of Kentucky Burger is sure to make a lasting impression."
