Blue Apron Partnered With MasterChef Junior

On Thursday, Blue Apron partnered with Fox's MasterChef Junior for a "Mystery Box Challenge" for the kids culinary competition. During the episode, each contestant had 45 minutes to create a dinner recipe with the Blue Apron Family Plan box using 10 to 12 ingredients from the meal kit company and the MasterChef Junior pantry, according to the press release.

The winner of the challenge was Justise Mayberry of Georgia who cooked up pan-seared salmon. Mayberry is also expected to have her recipe featured in an upcoming Blue Apron Family Plan menu.

According to Blue Apron, the partnership made sense for the show to further emphasize the importance of spending quality time with family, especially when cooking.

"Because we share a similar goal to encourage families to cook at home and spend valuable time in the kitchen together, our partnership will help further our company mission and enables us to bring unique cooking experiences to more homes across the country," Jared Cluff, chief marketing officer at Blue Apron, said in a statement.
