Anthony Bourdain Hosts 14th Annual Food For Thought Fundraiser For Bronx Students

New York's most prominent chefs and the brightest students in the Bronx come together for a night of fundraising and great food at the 14th Annual Food for Thought fundraiser at Gustavino's.This year's tasting is hosted by Anthony Bourdain, Mary Karr, and Ali Wentworth, and all proceeds will benefit the Bronx Academy of Letters, a specialty school in the Bronx that particularly focuses on communication through writing.

"An institution that emphasizes the ability to express oneself proficiently gets at the very heart of what I believe in," Bourdain told The Daily Meal. "Without the ability to articulate what you want in life, you're lost. If I could not use the English language in a precise way, I would still be dropping French fries into hot grease. The event itself is always really eclectic, with great chefs and restaurant people. You can always be sure that you will be inspired, impressed, and well fed."

This year's event takes place on March 16 and will feature dishes from a selection of chefs including Andrew Carmellini, Eric Ripert, Christina Tosi, Danny Bowien, Andy Ricker, Marcus Samuelsson, and April Bloomfield. The event is expected to raise more than $295,000 for the sixth through 12th grade students.
