McDonald’s Celebrates National Strawberry Month With Special Strawberry Sips

Chain sources its strawberries from California for much of the year

The McCafé Strawberry Banana Smoothie and Fruit ‘N Yogurt Parfaits are available nationwide, while the others are limited-time offerings in select regions.

McDonald’s is celebrating National Strawberry Month with several offerings highlighting strawberries, including smoothies, lemonade, and a parfait. The chain sources the strawberries it uses for these menu items from California, which produces more than 88 percent of the nation’s strawberries, between July and May, according to a release.

The McCafé Strawberry Orange Mango Smoothie is exclusive to McDonald’s restaurants in northern California and is available through October 2016. The McCafé Strawberry Banana Smoothie, available nationwide, is made with a strawberry banana smoothie base, ice, and low-fat yogurt.

McCafé Strawberry Lemonade and Frozen Strawberry Lemonade are available in the Chicagoland area through August 2016. The Strawberry Lemonade combines lemonade and strawberry purée, which is poured over ice, and the Frozen Strawberry Lemonade is made with lemonade and a purée-base strawberry syrup blended with ice.
