This destination is a gin-lover’s dream come true

The concept was created by Portobello Road Gin’s founding directors, as part of the sister company, Leelex, whose portfolio includes cocktail bar Jakes Bar & Still Room and Mexican eatery Cielo Blanco.

Look no further for the ultimate gin experience: The world’s first gin hotel, a unique, four-floor venue in London called The Distillery, opened its doors on Dec. 16.

The new venture includes the Portobello Road Gin distillery, two bars, a museum, an off-licensed shop, the Ginstitute, and a hotel, according to a press release.

“There have been a number of key moments for the brand since our launch five years ago, including international expansion and award wins,” said Ged Feltham, co-founder of Portobello Road Gin and The Distillery, in a statement, “but The Distillery is definitely our most ambitious and crucial project to date by far.

“We are proud purveyors of London spirit and we look forward to exciting existing fans and new customers alike with amazing gin and other wonderful new distillates and aged spirits.”

Visitors will not only be able to learn about the history of gin through the museum (which has the first English cocktail book), but will also have the opportunity to taste and make their own gin blends at London’s renowned Ginstitute.

The Distillery is currently accepting reservations for its soft launch, with specials at the venue’s two bars, The Resting Room and GinTonica.
