Limited-Time Artisanal Hot Chocolate Offerings For A Good Cause

Last night, at the L'Ecole Valrhona in Brooklyn, French chocolate manufacturer Valrhona hosted a kickoff party for its first NYC Hot Chocolate Festival. Pastry shops and bakeries participating in the festival, which runs from January 23 through the end of the month, allowed guests to sample their unique Valrhona hot chocolate creations.

Notable hot chocolates included Doughnut Plant's Tres Leches Hot Chocolate, which features condensed, evaporated, and whole milk, Valhrona's Ivoire 35% white chocolate, and is topped with a mini cake doughnut; and Brooklyn Roasting Company's Mocha Lava, made with dark and milk chocolate melted with pure maple syrup, Iris espresso blend, and half & half. The kickoff party was a ticketed event open to the public, and all proceeds from the event will be donated to City Harvest.

For those that missed the kickoff party, or attendees that want another taste of their favorite hot chocolate, the participating pastry shops and bakeries will offer their hot chocolates as a limited-time offering. Participating establishments include Dominique Ansel Bakery, Laduree, La Maison du Chocolat, Dough, and many more. A full list can be found here. 50 cents from each hot chocolate sold will be donated to City Harvest, so you can feel even better about indulging in the delicious hot chocolate creation of your choice.
