Ken Bone Wants to Be the Face of Mountain Dew’s Big Game Ad

Bone has teamed up with other brands such as Uber and Izod.

Last year, Mountain Dew created a viral sensation with its football playoffs ad for the brand’s Kickstart product — a beverage combining soda, fruit juice, and caffeine — featuring the creepy “puppy-monkey-baby.”

This year, the face of another internet meme, Kenneth “Ken” Bone, offered his services through Twitter to the PepsiCo brand for the big game commercial.


Bone gained his 15 minutes of fame as an “uncommitted voter” during the second 2016 presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

"I went from, last night, having seven Twitter followers, two of which were my grandmother...to now, I have several hundred," Bone told CNN. "And I don't know why they care what I have to say, but I'm glad they're engaged in the political process."

According to Adweek, Mountain Dew has not responded to a request for a comment and has not confirmed whether the brand will advertise during the game this year.
