Head To New York City To Sip On A 114-Ounce Mermaid Cocktail This Summer

First there was the unicorn food trend, and now mermaids are taking over. New York City's Watermark Bar has recently debuted its very own mermaid cocktail, and it weighs in at a whopping 114 ounces.

The cocktail, called The Siren, is made of frozen margarita swirled with sangria and served in a giant teal mermaid glass. The magical beverage is garnished withย edible orchids and a sparkler. The Siren costs $80, but is perfectly fine to share and split between friends.

Watermark's general manager, Ilinca Munteanu, told The Daily Meal that creating the idea behind the cocktail was a team effort.

"Since our frozen margaritas are so popular in the summer, we wanted to create a shareable version โ€” and add sangria," Munteanu said. "When we saw the beautiful color and shape of the mermaid glass, we knew it was the perfect vessel in which to serve the cocktail."

If you need something to snack on while tackling the mermaid cocktail, the bar also offers a giant soft pretzel served with smoked paprika and cream cheese dip.
