Burger King Is Debuting Its Own Version of McDonald’s Iconic Shamrock Shake
When March goes in like a lion, there are two things we can look forward to: the (hopeful) arrival of spring, and the return of the legendary McDonald’s Shamrock Shake. A seasonal favorite for decades, the brightly-colored, mint-flavored mint milkshake is welcomed with open arms by fast food fans every year. But now Burger King wants to get in on the minty dessert action. Burger King has announced the arrival of two new shake flavors, a Dr. Pepper Shake and an Oreo Irish mint shake, according to Business Insider.
It should be noted that the new Burger King milkshake may be green like the McDonald’s version, but unlike the latter, Burger King went with a chocolate Oreo flavor, whereas the Shamrock Shake is vanilla swirled with mint flavoring.
Burger King is also looking to get a leg up on the competition more than a month in advance, because while you’ll start seeing the new shake flavors at BK locations, the original Shamrock Shake won’t be appearing on McDonald’s menus until closer to St. Paddy’s Day.
Jalapeño Chicken Fries are also a new Burger King menu item, adding to the list of spicy options offered by the burger chain.
