Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 is mellowed in sugar maple charcoal, giving the whiskey a sweet and oak-like flavor.

Jack Daniel's is one of the most well-known whiskey brands in the world, selling millions and millions of cases per year. Just this week, it was announced that the distiller behind the whiskey empire is getting a TV show dedicated to telling his story.

The television drama, Blood and Whiskey, is based on Peter Krass’ biography Blood and Whiskey: The Life and Times of Jack Daniel, which tells the true story of Daniel and his journey as a moonshiner and runaway to a legendary distiller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The script will be written by Andrew Colville of TV shows Mad Men and Lone Star. Colville will be joined by executive producers Stan Spry and Jeff Holland of The Cartel, Drew Brown at Fascination Street, Zack Beckman at Lucid Road Productions, and lastly, Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad.
