7-Eleven Announces Faygo Rock And Rye Slurpees In Michigan And Ohio

Faygo, the Detroit-based soft drink company — whose name you may or may not recognize as the beverage of choice for hip-hop duo Insane Clown Posse and its fans, known as Juggalos — has teamed up with 7-Eleven for its second limited-edition Slurpee flavor of the year, the Rock & Rye, described as "a dreamy vanilla cream soda with just a kick of something that may or may not be cherry."

In March, 7-Eleven debuted the Redpop-flavored Slurpee, another Faygo classic.

7-Eleven will debut the Faygo Rock & Rye Slurpee only in Michigan and Ohio.

In all likelihood, it will make an appearance at the Gathering of the Juggalos, the annual music festival founded by ICP.

If you've never personally taken part in the Gathering, you might not know just how big of a role Faygo, referenced often in ICP lyrics, plays in each show — but you should take a look.

The practice, which began with a bottle of Faygo getting thrown by ICP's Joseph Bruce (stage name Violent J) at a group of hecklers, soon evolved into the recurring audience participation segment known as "Faygo Showers," which are exactly what they sound like.
