For the first time in the event’s history, The Daily Meal’s Celebrity Chef Series stepped out of the kitchen and onto Park Avenue for an evening at Digitas with Jesse Schenker, chef and owner of The Gander and Recette in New York City.
Chef Schenker’s menu of inventive small bites for the evening brought together The Daily Meal team with some of its top clients at Digitas, including KitchenAid, a frequent guest in The Daily Meal’s test kitchen, and others.
The menu, which included octopus with white beans and chorizo, pulled pork on Parker House rolls, Chicharrón with lime curd, and a Gander favorite, brisket “tots” with pickled jalapeño, was complemented by the evening’s signature cocktail, an Old Fashioned, and elit by Stoli vodka.
Later this month, chef Schenker will release his memoir and cookbook, All or Nothing: One Chef’s Appetite for the Extreme, which is available for pre-order now. Check back later this week for our exclusive interview with Jesse Schenker about his career and cookbook!
