  • get to the fourth floor and enjoy the carousel - just do it.
  • Museum and carrousel Closed on Mondays
  • eat at the lunch box for home made foods! on the concourse level, one floor below enterance
  • Very quiet and enjoyable place to take your family! Don't forget to see the 9/11 exhibit it's so moving.
  • NYS Archives are a great place to do historical research. Staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable.
  • Pack a lunch and eat it on the 4th floor by the carousel!
  • Entry is free but donations are accepted and appreciated.
  • It's free to get in but the suggested donation for a family is $10.

  • Take your time. Watch the ENTIRE Firefighter Bill Green documentary in the 9/11 exhibit. It is unbelievable!! Also, take note of the Harlem exhibit :)
  • Ride the wonderful carousel. See if you can find the one antlered deer? How bout the two donkeys?
  • Check out the 4th floor for some cool old exhibits and ride the carousal!
  • What a great place. Spend at least 2 hours
  • Rock, Gem and Fossil show is awesome in February. Overall a great time to bring friends and family to see the museum.

  • This is a cool little museum, extremely informative for adults and hands on for the kids. Kids loved the animals and the 100+ yr old merry go round upstairs!
