New England Coffee Thanks Over 10,000 People On The Streets Of Boston; Dedicates Mural Painted With Coffee
New England Coffee ambassadors spend 'National Coffee Day' thanking the people of Boston and New England for helping them reach their centennial milestone.
MALDEN, Mass., Oct. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- New England Coffee, a division of Reily Foods, on Thursday gave away thousands of cups of coffee and commemorative mementos at a daylong celebration in downtown Boston as part of its 100th anniversary "Extraordinary People Campaign," which honors those who drink and serve their coffee.
The event, held on NATIONAL COFFEE DAY, featured a ribbon cutting of an original mural by celebrated coffee artist Gerard Tonti, who creates artwork entirely from coffee. Painted with New England Coffee's espresso roast, the 12ft x 12ft mural was commissioned as a gift to the people of New England from the people of New England Coffee in appreciation for their support over the last 100 years. It will be displayed in South Station through October and then at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center through early 2017.
"The event in Boston was the culmination of the #YouAreExtraordinary Tour that has been traveling throughout New England for the last eight months thanking thousands of the extraordinary people who drink and serve New England Coffee," commented Michael Morse, vice president of marketing, Reily Foods Company. "We hope the mural represents our enduring gratitude."
New England Coffee had 14 brand ambassadors accompanying their "MugMobile" to thank people with and award 50 winners with $100 Visa gift cards for playing the NewEnglandCoffee100.com sweepstakes. The digital instant win game is continuing to give away 50 more $100 prizes online through October 21.
The #YouAreExtraordinary Tour, the foundation of the "Extraordinary People Campaign," is an extensive sampling and engagement tour traveling around New England visiting restaurants, coffee shops and community locations, such as police and fire stations. Photos of many of the people who have been recognized can be found on the Extraordinary People "Gallery." New England Coffee also created a commemorative coffee table book and short film that share the company's 100-year history and culture.
