There are several places in the Cleveland area that really light it up for the holidays creating an exciting, dazzling and beautiful atmosphere for family and friends to check out and get into the holiday spirit. From vast acres with huge displays to houses with lights set up to music, here are some holiday displays to check out this season.
General Electric’s Nela Park

East Cleveland, OH 44112
Located at General Electric’s Nela Park location in East Cleveland, the holiday light show has become a Cleveland tradition. The GE campus at this location is 92 acres and the folks at GE light it up at the holidays. From early December through the New Year, families can drive to Nela Park and enjoy the Christmas light displays along Noble Road to get into the spirit. Nela Park is a National Historic Place, getting the distinction in 1975.
Ashtabula County’s Lights On The Lake

Ashtabula, OH 44004
In its ninth year, Ashtabula County’s Lights On The Lake features 70 displays on its 54 acres. With its grand displays and beautiful setting right on Lake Erie, it is worth the hour drive from Cleveland. Highlights include the displays on the Ashtabula Light House, Bascule Lift Bridge and the Ashtabula Flying Saucer; Santa will even be visiting the park on December 19. The display starts Thanksgiving weekend and runs until New Year’s Eve. Cars are $5 and buses are $1 per person.
Crown Point Parkway Holiday Light Display

For over 20 years, the cul-de-sac in the Chandler Commons Subdivision has been lighting up the neighborhood with holiday spirit. From Thanksgiving through January 1, huge holiday light displays take over this residential area, including a merry-go-round and a train, along with Santa and his reindeer on roofs and so much more. At the center of it all is 14326 Crown Point, the house that started the tradition, has received national attention and has visitors from all over come to see the display. This home alone has over 32,000 lights and 30 moving displays; Santa also pays a visit in this garage on Friday and Saturday nights.
Cleveland Public Square

At the center of activity in downtown Cleveland, this Cleveland Public Square Plaza is a festive winter wonderland during the holidays. From lighting the huge Christmas trees to decorating throughout the plaza with snowflakes, ribbons and bells, Public Square will get any Grinch into the spirit. There are displays in the old Higbee Building, now home to The Horseshoe Casino, reminiscent of holidays past. This is the same display window that played a role in the classic Christmas movie, “A Christmas Story,” filmed here in Cleveland. With Terminal Tower and The Old Stone Church surrounding the square, it is really a magical scene.
Light O’ Rama

This home in Garfield Heights uses led lighting that flashes and is synchronized to music.The display started in 2012 and has caught on as one of the displays to see during the holidays. With flashing rope lights, trees and stars in a variety of colors to different holiday-spirited music, it is a unique lighting display for the whole family to enjoy. Light O’ Rama takes control from behind the scenes with music, lights and special effects, so all the visitors see is the holiday display show.
