Official Mount Gay Rum Regatta Hat

Mount Gay Rum sponsors more than 120 regattas around the world every year. This is the Mount Gay Rum official hat. According to the factory guide, the only way you're getting one of these is to be in one of the regattas.

Mount Gay Rum Still

Dating from about 1760, the visitors' center claims that this is the oldest kid of still which continues to be used to make Mount Gay Rum.

Coffey Still

According to the visitors' center, this coffey still, or 'continuous column,' which was invented by Aeneas Coffey in 1831, made high volume distillation possible.

Rum Tasting

After a brief film, and viewing the stills, there is a tasting of four rums including Mount Gay's Eclipse Rum.

Mount Gay Rum Cooperage

The cooperage is where casks are made.

Bottling Room

According to the guide on the tour, the distilling takes place elsewhere on the island. But blending and bottling does take place at the Mount Gay Rum factory in Bridgetown.

Visitors' Center Bar

After the tour, visitors can sample more rum at the bar at the visitors' center. A 'shot' of the 1703, Mount Gay's premium rum, costs BD$25.
