Tips

  • Most interesting sushi ever.
  • Nate is the best waiter ever.
  • water piglet roll is the best.
  • You can stare at the menu for hours. Instead, order a pitcher of Shinjuku Shimmy and let Bun decide for you.
  • Told to get the falafel sushi aka Howe Street Block Party, which is "killer"
  • Amazing, sustainable sushi. Order the blue plate special and wait to be amazed. Lots of vegetarian options too!
  • Chef Bun could sell anything. He is also a swell guy. Show up hungry and with an open mind, and don't be surprised to have your socks rocked off.
  • Highly disappointed. Gave me this speech about the environment and anyone that eats tuna is a terrible person. Walked right out. Give me a break.
  • Their miso soup is unique and the greatest thing ever.
  • Food blogger Mary of Well on Wheels recommends Miyas Sushi. Known for their sustainable sushi, their menu also features a huge selection of creative vegetarian offerings.
  • strike up a conversation with bun... he is not only an amazing chef, but also a really funny, entertaining guy
  • do the japafrican roll - it will re-define the whole meaning of sushi to you and leave you begging for more
  • go at 10pm every Thursday or 10:30pm on Friday's and Saturdays for late night... cheap beer and amazing sushi - arguably the best deal you can get in new haven
  • Try the The Very Hungry Catterpillar Dinner - Beat. Restaurant. On. The. Planet.
  • Blue plate special for beginners
  • Tokyo fries and kiss the smiling piggy!
  • Try the Sweet Mother's Milk
  • Shinjuku shimmer and a Tokyo fro followed by romping with the goats. Awesome :)
  • love all the rolls, romping w/ the goats, ebibaba, dancing samurai, tiger tiger burning bright, MUST GET THEIR HIBUSCUS BEER!!
  • The Tokyo Fro is insanely good. Imagine French fries so finely cut that they have the texture of hair; the plate looks like it has an Afro on it. It's covered in thousand island dressing and scallions
