  • First founded in 1889, the museum features an encyclopedic collection of approximately 80,000 objects spanning 5,000 years of world history and an especially strong collection of Asian art.
  • Voted "Best View" of the Minneapolis Skyline by City Pages in 2012! The museum is filled with amazing things to see, but one of the prettiest pictures it holds is outside.

  • The MIA has been cultivating its permanent Asian art collection, which spans 17 cultures, for more than 90 years. It's definitely worth at least 17 chunks of your time.
  • Must see museum. It is free and has a great collection of art. Stop for coffee and sandwiches too.

  • Absolutely loved the Art in Bloom exhibition. I brought children to this event, activities were great for all ages. We got to enjoy other exhibits as well. Great visit over all.

  • One of the best places to go in the Twin Cities & the best museum in Minnesota IMO. Offers a variety of art styles, mediums & eras. Gets many of the tours including da Vinci, the Louvre & Rembrandt.
  • This museum is incredible. Yes, there's fabulous fine art. But there are also many interesting objects from the ancient world to contemporary items. All in a glorious building. Do not miss it!
