As it states on its website, The Mill is a joint venture between Josey Baker Bread and Four Barrel Coffee. From house coffee with almond milk to cappuccinos to lattes with art, the coffee is strong, not too bold, yet flavorful. This is definitely something to check out if you're in the Alamo Square neighborhood.

  • I love this place. The coffee, the toast, the subway tiles, the pretty, disaffected waitstaff, the sea of twee. I would nap here if they would let me.
  • Not a good place for Passover.
  • GET the toast! It's the new hipster breakfast of the century.
  • Leave your laptop at home cause there's no wifi or power outlets.
  • It's closed on Monday and Tuesday... But who cares?! I will work around your weird hipster schedule any day for the best toast and coffee in this city.
  • Totally nuts about their homemade bread toasted with almond butter.
  • Finally open after 8 months in the making - and worth the wait. A bright and airy space. The bespoke cups are very pleasing. Ian makes a great espresso and the toast really is pretty amazing.
  • You might find a line waiting for fancy toast on Josey Baker bread at this Divisadero bakery, with coffee by Four Barrel.
  • My new favourite local! Fourbarrel + Josey Baker = superwin.
  • Toastworthy toast!
  • This place has skyrocketed to the top of my NoPa coffee shop hit list. Four Barrel is awesome, natch, but you seriously need to try the Josey Baker toast. Incredible.
  • Get a pour over and a piece toast, congratulations, now you're broke.
  • Eat the toast. Die happy.
  • If you're visiting The Mill with a friend, order up the dark rye toast with cream cheese for a non-sweet starter, & don't pass up a chance for a well-prepared Four Barrel macchiato.
  • The four dollar toast is the best toast in SF, making our list of "The Tastes That Make the City: SF Edition."
  • Currently the best coffee vibe in San Francisco. Be sure to try the $4 toast. You will be glad you did.
  • Oatmeal apricot cookie is perfection. Split it with a friend and sit at the corner table sipping iced coffee in the sun. Then go write a Bright Eyes song.
  • This place is one of the most gorgeous coffee shops I've ever seen.
  • $3.50 for a piece of toast. Good toast but pretty expensive
  • This place is so cool it hurts.
