Foursquare Tips

  • Move one step closer to your destiny as a cat lady.
  • Always come in Michaels with a coupon that way you can save money on all your craft supplies.
  • Don't ask the employees anything, they just give you blank stares and the line is almost always nuts
  • Get crafty! This is the only Michaels store in Manhattan! Check the schedule for kids workshops. Powered by ParentsConnect.com
  • Never, ever go here on a weekend unless you're willing to fight your way through the store and stand in line forever.
  • It is a wonder anyone has timeto make anything that isn't built on scrap & metal. More fitting for arts & crafts than the SoHo types. The lower level offers quite the array for those with art talent.
  • They have a wide selection of beads for jewelry making but you can definitely find cheaper stuff near korea town and beadshops in diamond district. You can forget about chains here. All pretty basic.
  • This Michaels is very consistent... Especially when it comes to surley, rude employees who make it very clear they would rather do anything than help a customer.
  • Michaels has a great array of yarns for a general craft store. And, they have free knit and crochet patterns online. #Yarnbombing
  • Lines are awful.
  • The line here is always ridiculous. Try to go early on weekdays or be prepared to wait on line for at least 10 minutes.
  • Great place for everything..I love when my son gets assigned projects just to come here :-)
  • Employee was very rude and disrespectful when changing my newborn in restroom. Needed help from husband due to surgery and she told me I should never have had a baby if I couldn't change a diaper.
  • Oh...my! Scrapbooking at it's best.
  • Move one step closer to your destiny as a car lady.
  • Sign up for their emails and get 40% off coupons weekly. Makes this otherwise very expensive store affordable.
  • Frames break easily, lines move slowly, and despite "sales," everything is overpriced. It's as if someone saw stuff heading to the dump but decided to send it to Michaels instead to make a quick buck.
  • Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I love going there.
  • Chintzy Chinese crap, perfect for any project! Never enough cashiers - the managers don't seem to care that the store's special project seems to be recreating Soviet-era bread lines.
  • Check http://weeklyad.michaels.com for coupons. And if you sign up for membership (free), you get 20% off your first purchase and other discounts.
