Foursquare Tips

  • Finding a restaurant not hawking locavore fare these days is tough, but at Lumire its no gimmick.
  • Pear Sidecar, no questions asked.
  • Could be the best Creme Brulee I've had.
  • The hanger steak is a house specialty and always delicious.
  • Fantastic creative French style food. Very pricy but that's part of the idea. Good service but make sure you allocate the time as it can be slow. Tasting menu is excellent, takes 2 (enjoyable) hours.
  • They have a new lunch service and it's amazing!
  • Celebrating 31 years or wedded bliss for me, 31 years of trials and tribulations for my lovely bride. One of the best meals ever! Deets to follow.
  • Simply the best restaurant in Newton. Reservations are a must.
  • Ah, the Barnegat scallops, tasty short ribs, porgy and striped bass, their roast chicken... and the top drawer service.
  • The space can get a bit cramped, but little decorative flourishes, like spoon-shaped handles on the front door and translucent shades, make this a captivating place.
  • Tasting menu is really great
  • Believe it or not, even the espresso was great!
  • With most of its ingredients coming from MA farms & New England fisheries, & with a regularly changing menu, Lumiere lets you not only know where the good is going, but where it came from.
  • Duck confit may have been the richest and best flavor I have ever experienced... Ever. I don't normally even like duck.
  • Squash soup is delicious.
  • most sustainable restaurant in Boston
  • The menu changes daily, so you really don't know what you have in store for yourself until you get there! Not vegetarian friendly.
  • You can almost always get seats for 2 at the bar if you drop in. Best eats in Newton.
