Foursquare Tips

  • Made our South's Best List! Ask for a good amount of outside brown meatthe browned bits that form on the surface of the shoulderand the vinegary, relish-like slaw, on top of the meat.
  • Oh, the smell of BBQ is so great!
  • Get the large chopped plate and the red slaw and choose hush puppies instead of bun. This is the best BBQ in NC.
  • This is one of the meccas for Western North Carolina style barbecue. Go for the coarse chopped, and grab another pound to go. Head around back to see the pit and breathe in that delicious smoke.
  • The best BBQ in the area, if not in the state!
  • Not the best by far! Gary's in China Grove much better. Bad service also!
  • I don't know why this place is so hyped. It's good but I wouldn't say it's any better than many other places in the region.
  • Great BBQ and their pulled pork is the best in the area.
  • Popular, but definitely not a place for vegetarians.
  • Get the large chopped tray...."outside brown", hushpuppies, slaw, and sweet tea. If you eat anymore than this, my best to you. Best BBQ I have ever had.....period!
  • Everyone has their favorite in Lexington and this is mine!
  • Hushpuppies & peach cobbler yum yum
  • Holy crap the coarse chop is silly awesomely tasty.
  • This is the best BBQ in Lexington!
  • Good bbq, a spicy vinegar based sauce, ask for honey with your puppies!!!!
  • Best BBQ place in NC so far. I am still searching...
  • Get the BBQ sandwitch, hushpupies, sweet tea and a piece of chocolate pie. AMAZING!
  • Incredible. Chopped bbq sandwich with extra brown; course chopped tray with skin; hush puppies; turkey; cobbler with ice cream
  • If I had to describe this place in one word. Authentic. Second word, Delicious!
  • Mmmmm ... is that descriptive enough for the BBQ? Hushpuppies are super crispy on the outside and prob my favorite item. Skip the fries (even though they are crinkle cut) & go with the onion rings.
