Tips
- You can't go wrong with oysters (we highly recommend Alaskan), but if you aren't feeling the raw bar, treat yourself to lobster spaetzle with cheese or chimichurri steak sandwich.
- A project by Dustin Lancaster and Matt Kaner of Bar Covell, the cozy, hip oyster bar offers a limited menu of seafood plus a well-curated selection of boutique wines and craft beer. [Eater 38 Member]
- Once you've had enough of the raw bar, order the bacon-scattered Oysters Casino. Its warm liquor is larded with herbs and butter:
- Amazing, amazing, amazing! Kumiai & Pemaquid were by far my fab oysters! The food on the 2nd floor is awesome!
- If they have it on the specials, try the pan fried oysters in the chili/tomato cream base. Delicious. The fresh sea urchin was also delicious (but pricey).
- Get the Daily Dozen / mussels or Rockefeller ...Nom Nom goodness
- The mussels are not to be missed, a delicious smoky oil and perfect chorizo. The service was also transcendent--anticipating everything. This place should make Silverlake proud. Do not miss.
- Huckleberry lamb and kale. Squid ink pasta with uni. Smoked trout salad is really unique. And oysters!
- one of the nicer restaurants in silver lake. very cute but small. have wine and oysters at the bar upstairs while you wait for your table
- The oysters are great!
- Have some oysters and wine while enjoying the neighborhood. Or mussels, fish, salad, or meat dish. Don't forget to check the special.
- This new hotspot in Silver Lake is located in the same cozy space that formerly housed the Italian restaurants Michelangelo and Domenico.
- We got the daily dozen. Delicious. Lounge upstairs is intimate & not crowded on a Monday evening. We were able to nab a great table by the patio.
- Eat: Chef's Daily Dozen. Munch: Parmesan Broccolini. Sip: Sancerre. End: Chocolatey Churros.
- Great selection. Blue Pool oysters are incredibly complex; multiple layers of flavor, from briny to creamy. Grilled Oysters Casino and Smoked Trout Salad (very subtle smoke) were excellent.
- Zagat 25. Best in Silver Lake. specializes in raw, steamed, fried and grilled variations on the oyster plus a "small" mostly seafood menu and an "enticing" wine and cocktail list.
- AW: oysters, smoked mussels with chorizo toast, ridiculously good clam chowder, this is still one of the best places in the city to order a glass of truly excellent ros on a warm summer evening
- Onion rings like woah and oysters rockafellar
- Finally! A place (besides Leela Thai and Reservoir) to have dinner at before going to a show at the Satellite.
- Oysters. Eat them. Even if you think you dont like them. You do. Stop being stupid about it.
