Tips
- We like the ceviches and waterfront views, but we love the bustling happy hour with $5 cocktails.
- A total classic. First-timers, go samplers: ceviche sampler plus empanada sampler makes a great meal for two -- and heck, throw in a rollito, too.
- Just had lunch here - great cebiche nikei
- You have to have the ceviche and the pisco sour...it's #47 on 7x7's Big Eat SF 2010.
- La Mar is a big restaurant with a big menu. This is Peruvian fooda cuisine influenced by the whole world and jacked up with heat andfiltered through Chef Gaston Acurios European training.
- Super VIP treatment for A-list readers includes 6 courses of delicious Peruvian cuisine paired with 6 Pisco-based cocktails. Event takes place October 12 at 6:30. To sign up, click on the link below.
- Cebiche sampler was delightful.
- Highly suggest the cebiche nikei and the causas limenas with the pisco punch...
- The ceviche tasting was excellent! The empanada sampler completed the perfect weekend lunch on the outdoor patio. Try the mango picoso, a little bit of heat contrasts mango nicely.
- Try the corazon skewers ... It's scrumptious...
- The wifi password is Lamar100 so you don't have to ask. The blue sapphire martini hit the spot.
- There are many wonderful choices on La Mars brunch menu, which augments its Peruvian cuisine with Spanish, Japanese, & Italian influences. Still, starting your brunch with cocktails is a no-brainer.
- Go for happy hour for half off pisco cocktails. It's a cebicheria, so duh, get the ceviche! There's a sampler platter of 4 different ceviches if you have a hard time deciding.
- Quem est acostumado com o La Mar de S Paulo sofre um pouquinho com a acidez do limo, no pisco e ceviches, e a ausncia da pimenta cambuci e do turron de dulce de leche (imperdovel).
- Ask for the wifi password.
- try the Pisco Sour
- SF Weekly's Best Of 2011 Winner - Reader's Poll - BEST CENTRAL AMERICAN RESTAURANT
- Interesting Pisco drinks here. Try the Pastito (Pisco, lavender extract, Falernum, and pineapple syrup).
- Mmmm...pisco sours
- La Mar just added my Humanitas Sauvignon Blanc. Bright, crisp, oak-free & tasty. And I give all proceeds to the SF Food Bank! Drink Charitably at La Mar!
