Foursquare Tips

  • This family-run taqueria in Little Village is one of Chicago's true treasures. Truth be told, pretty much any of their tacos de fritangas could be featured on this list.
  • Check out an interesting shrine to los muertos, a star of David, and a Buddha, all in the same window!
  • Housemade longaniza sausage and the crispy tripa are must haves. Dine in for an authentic experience.
  • Tripas can be deeply funky, but this version has a clean, extra-savory flavor. It's my favorite taco in the whole city. $2.40 per taco.
  • Authentic tacos in Chicago. Worth the trip if you're craving real Mexican food and an awesome atmosphere. Grab an agua fresca while you're here!
  • Incredibly friendly, with samples gladly given out. Bring friends and order a large platter of all the excellent tacos.
  • Crispy tripa
  • Tacos de longaniza
  • Try the housemade tepache, an effervescent fermented pineapple drink.
  • The Taqueria is closed on Thursday's until April.
  • This supermarket taqueria makes its own longaniza sausage, which it sells by bulk. If you're coming in for a meal try the crispy tripe and al pastor tacos. For drinks try the tepache.
  • I tried the huevos rancheros with beans and rice. (only $5.00) it tasted like authentic home food. So I recommend it. Also tried tacos de canasta. (Only $1.00) and those were good as well
  • Their pastor (be sure to order it WITH pineapple) just beats all. They're also the only place so far to make me like tripas (go crispy, all the way). Love the place, the people, the food.
  • Try the Tepache juice - so good!
  • Food is great, but the neighborhood is what's authentic.
  • Try the Longazina
  • Side of Spring Onions
  • Homemade Tepache
