Even we don’t have the Colonel’s secret blend of 11 herbs and spices but we’ve found that a dried salad dressing mix recreates the flavor of classic Kentucky Fried Chicken.

If you’ve love Kentucky Fried Chicken and have ever tried searching for their fried chicken recipe then you already know that the Colonel’s secret blend of spices is just that: a secret. Even the KFC menu lists the herbs and spices as Colonel’s Secret Original Recipe Seasoning.

If you’re craving that crispy and flavorful fried chicken, but don’t feel like going to Kentucky Fried Chicken, we have a recipe for you. Even we don’t have the secret spice blend recipe, so we like using a dried Italian salad dressing mix to flavor the chicken; it has a blend of spices and seasonings similar to those used in the Colonel’s famous fried chicken recipe. Add a little bit of black pepper and you’re well on your way to making Kentucky Fried Chicken at home.
