This vintage 10-seat diner in the California capital has been serving classic, old-style burgers to everyone from farm workers to politicians since the mid-1930s. For the Superburger, the bready, no-frills bun encloses a griddled patty, well-done but still at least a little juicy, dressed with mustard and mayo and layered with the usual tomato and lettuce. Nothing fancy, just a real burger. -Colman Andrews

  • Check out lunch but if you are a breakfast foodie go earlier and have a pancake bigger than your head!
  • Try a stack of their famous pancakes; youll get four 13-inch pancakes, complete with toppings and maple syrup. As seen on Travel Channels Man v. Food Nation.
  • Take what you think you can eat, cut it in half, then split with a friend. You will still have leftovers for local homeless.
  • All the food rocks! But breakfast is the best in town! Good god the breakfast burritos and pancakes could feed a small country.
  • Chocolate malt is best in town.
  • Employees are odd but pleasant. BLT is packed with bacon.
  • Great tasting food and lots of it. I now need a nap!
  • No bathrooms! And limited parking.
  • Call your order in beforehand because there's a 45min to 1 hour wait.
  • Reviewers have said: "I'm a sucker for the old school diner setting, and the burger was solid. ... The chili cheese fries were really good..."
  • Order a pancake "Tiny Jim" as your toast in the breakfast combo. It is super yummie!
  • I loved their pancakes, I added a side of strawberries and cream. It was crispy on the edges and soft in the middle, so good!
  • Best dive breakfast place in the city
  • It's pretty pricey. However, the portions are huge.
  • Such an authentic old-school greasy spoon experience. Has been around since the 1930s and it shows - in a good way. Great chili, ultra large portions and happy service.
  • Everything is good here. Of its busy, be patient. It's worth it!
  • You're not going to leave hungry. Short stack pancakes enough for two, or one very hungry individual
  • It's all good. Fresh, home made.
  • Great food! And fun to watch them cook from the diner seats. Super super small so be prepared to not have a seat. Only about 10 people fit.
  • Absolutely fresh homemade food; All delicious! Family operated; Such friendly service; food is so good u won't leave a bite behind. If u pass it up u r missing out. Best little diner w/the biggest
