Tips

  • Underwhelming flavors for the steak fajita, which came with bland sides, very cramped seating and bad acoustics -- everyone in the entire restaurant sounded like they were yelling to be heard.
  • underwhelming food, overpriced. totally forgettable and average at best.
  • Its hard to imagine eating anything else after all that melted cheese, especially because its hard not to eat all of that melted cheese.
  • It would be a huge mistake to not get the Mag Mud queso. Definitely the best in the city!
  • Awesome chile relleno and fajitas! Must try the avocado margarita!
  • Tex-Mex invokes visions of nachos and queso, which are certainly delicious at this new Gramercy spot, but the frozen avocado margaritas are a thing of splendor.
  • Super noisy, food is honestly nothing to write home about (but this could be tex mex in general), overrated!
  • the queso is a must
  • The white Queso is unheard of in NYC--it used to be the only thing I missed about my native Texas, now it's here! TL;dr--order it!
  • Disappointing. The tacos were promising but lacking (who ever knew there was such a thing as taco sweat), the chips were dry, and the service was bizarre (or drunk).
  • Nicest staff (surprise, they're 90% Texans), and delicious drinks and food, even if not exact replicas of the dishes they pay tribute to.
  • The Mexican Martinis (aka MexiMarts) are very good and very strong. Consider yourself warned.
  • Skip it; too trendy and cheesy. (That last bit was queso pun...since they push it pretty hard as an app to drown out the mediocrity of the rest of the food.)
  • The mag mud queso is amazing and will fill you up. Steak fajitas are good but expensive and not mindblowing.
  • QUESO, fajitas and margaritas. Come hungry.
  • Loved the mag mud queso & the gigantic mixed grill fajitas platter thingy (the chicken was great). Skip the avocado tacos, bland.
  • Queso & avocado tacos are on point. Love the Shiner on tap. Not quite as good as being in Austin but closer than a plane ride.
  • Have to have the Mag Mud Queso...yumm!
  • Won't be back soon. Place was not memorable. Chile relleno was topped with raisins, which made the plate look cheap. Bonus: drunk owner stumbled around making awkward small talk with patrons.
  • I love tex mex but SOME effort has to be made to cater to NYC palattes. Besides the Bob Armstrong queso everything was a flat. Owner was DRUNK and handsy with patrons and the waitress was absentee
