  • James Fitzgerald Marine Reserve is the best place on the coast to see the tide pools. On any given day youll see sea urchins, sea stars, harbor seals, various mollusks, and the elusive red octopus.

  • Best date spot in the SF Bay area. Take your girl tidepooling; it's organic, sensual, offbeat, fascinating, beautiful. She will never forget it.
  • Be sure to go out on the bluffs which stand about 80 feet above where the seals rest. You can watch hundreds of harbor seals surfing and scampering around.
  • Huge population of resident seals.
  • Make sure you check the tides before you come. The lower the better.
  • Come during low tide and look at all the cool things in the tide pools. The further out you go, the more youll see.
  • Lots of airplane noise here. There must be an airport nearby for these little planes. Kinda sucks to disrupt this beautiful area
  • Cypress trees were planted between 1881-1911 when developer built the Moss Beach Hotel
  • Great tidepooling even during higher tides.
  • The tide pools are so fun to walk around and explore. Felt like a kid again jumping around rocks and water.

  • This is a wonderful day trip from San Francisco. Make sure to find out when it's low tide as that's when all the sea life is available.
