Tips

  • Really nice in Autumn when the leaves turn but great for picnics when it's warm as well.
  • Great place for a walk or a picnic
  • awesome spot for hiking. bus stops right outside the visitor center for a quick lift back
  • Beautiful place to see a variety of trees.
  • Make your way to the redwood deck to take in some amazing views of the giant sequoias.
  • Wonderful hikes. My first redwoods!
  • The trail is really good. I'll try each season for different perspectives as suggested
  • Amazing all year long.
  • Peaceful and ever changing. Visit each season for a new perspective.
  • Beautiful place to go to and ground and center <3
  • Incredible walk through some amazingly tall, and beautiful trees.
  • Amazing place to walk and bring the dogs.
  • Gorgeous, and remarkably peaceful for being so close to downtown. That said, it took my husband and I a while to acclimate to the signage in this park-- it isn't always immediately clear.
  • Fun short hikes
  • At Hoyt Arboretum every tree has a story to tell. Founded in 1928 to conserve endangered species and educate the community, Hoyt encompasses 187 ridge-top acres accessible by trails covering 12 miles.
  • Bring someone with a good sense of direction. It's really easy to get lost.
