Foursquare Tips

  • Really good ice cubes here
  • Skip the chicken and go for the delicious, ber juicy burger.
  • This place is delicious and interesting but hearty and not precious. Start with a cocktail, share everything & get wine with the mains. Leave room for dessert. Reserve a table a few days in advance.
  • Duck fat potato chips are overrated.
  • The Plaid on Plaid is sooooo good.
  • The fried chicken gives Wayfarer's Tavern a run for its money. Literally delicious. Get the hot sauce.
  • It's all about the fried chicken. No bones!
  • Get the yonsei oysters!
  • The fried chicken disappeared off my plate faster than it should have. Get it!
  • Specialties: Oysters; First Base burger (with beef tongue); fried chicken with chrysanthemum leaf-apple slaw; any cocktail.
  • They serve their whiskey with water and ice on the side. Brilliant!!
  • Hopscotch is a hip new restaurant in Uptown Oakland. Its brick octopus is a wonderfully chewy tangle of bright baby octopus tentacles, salty ogo seaweed, bitter mizuna leaves, and sweet ponzu sauce.
  • If you look young... You can count on bad service.
  • You can't go wrong with their brunch menu. If you're feeling particularly fat-assy, I highly recommend their pork belly Benedict. Sounds rich and decadent? Why yes, yes it is.
  • Amazing cup of coffee here.
  • Gents, even though this is a casual dining spot, please remove your hats when you eat.
  • Duck fat chips are a must. Definitely worth the extra $.
  • This is a very nice Asian fusion spot, good food, drinks, the atmosphere lovely. Dining in with a group, or solo. It's all bueno.
  • Special Monday Brunch menu. Fyi the chicken and biscuits has pork-based sausage in the gravy. In case that matters to you. The chicken is somewhat dry without the gravy (I got it on the side).
  • Brunch here is fan freaking tactic
