Funds will help No Kid Hungry Provide More Than Four Million Meals to Kids in Need
Irvine, CA (RestaurantNews.com) The Habit Restaurant, Inc. (Nasdaq: HABT) today announces the company has raised $418,000 to help kids in need across America. The Habit’s donation to the No Kid Hungry campaign will help provide more than four million meals to kids who struggle with hunger.
For the second year, The Habit partnered with No Kid Hungry to help children and families who are unsure of their next meal. This year’s effort more than doubled the previous contribution of $200,000.
“Together with our guests we are honored to support children and families in need across the country,” said Russ Bendel, CEO of The Habit Burger Grill. “We want to thank every one of our guests who supported this effort. It will make a difference.”
“We cannot possibly overstate how impressed we are with the dedication The Habit Burger and its guests have shown No Kid Hungry this past September,” says Diana Hovey, Senior Director of Dine Out for No Kid Hungry. “They doubled their success from last year, raising nearly half-a million dollars in four weeks and even beating their goal for the year. Giving back isn’t just a habit for The Habit Burger—it’s a mission, and now No Kid Hungry can connect more than four million more meals to kids around the country who struggle with hunger because of their generosity.”
The purpose of No Kid Hungry is to make childhood hunger a thing of the past. In partnership with local programs, No Kid Hungry connects children to breakfast in schools, summer meals, and teaches families how to shop on a budget and cook healthier meals.
