Tips
- This lively eatery pulls in Brooklynites looking for both homey abuela standbys (rich, cilantro-nipped guac; fragrant pozole verde) and palate-expanding fare (tongue tacos, duck-leg tamales).
- Try Margarita de toronja picante. The best.
- Great! Guacamole, fish tacos, carnitas tacos all terrific. The salsas that come with the tacos are delicious, especially the spicy one.
- "Make sure other Foursquare users know not to come here," my friends said, and I complied.
- Drink the Margarita de toronja picante. It will burn your lips off
- Awful food. Try some other spot
- Margarita de Toronja Picante. Jalapeo syrup, habanero-infused tequila. Spice up your life, or something.
- Be sure to check out the cool DUMBO-themed day of the dead wallpaper.
- The food here is damn good. And I'm not saying so because I drank a 32oz Corona Familiar because they also messed up my credit card charge & I was mistaken for a blind-date hipster. Still, great food.
- Try the tongue tacos so they can taste you while you taste them.
- The tortillas are pressed in-house and the cocktails change with the season at this Mexican restaurant owned by the folks behind Colonie.
- Service is slow! !!!!!
- Get the horchata for dessert.
- Visiting our #People exhibition at Brooklyn Bridge Park? Stop here for dinner and order the fish tacos! They're a #StaffPick fave of our Communications team.
- The fish tacos are sublime, as is the guacamole, but we liked everything. Good, helpful wait staff as well. A keeper!
- Carnitas tacos are sublime! Portions are pretty small so you'll definitely want to order a few. Chiles rellenos and scallop dish (ceviche style) were also fantastic and incredibly flavorful.
- La Gran Margarita FTW!
- Don't even try to get in if you look Hispanic. They'll tell you "there's a 20 minute wait" but they'll end up letting anyone else in, even with no reservations. It is ironic that it is a Mexican place.
- Backyard is not open in March (even when it's 70 degrees)
- the cucumber margarita is delicious and refreshing. The food has amazing Flavors. I had the steak and egg platter, skirt steak was cooked to perfection. The ceviche was really good too.
