Good Food Ireland at Bloom 2017

The stage is set in Phoenix Park Dublin for another successful few days at Bloom 2017. Ireland’s largest ever garden festival takes place next Bank Holiday weekend from 1st to 5th June.

Among the attractions are The Show Gardens, designed by some of Ireland's top horticultural designers. You’ll see how the professionals do it to create top looks for home gardens.

This year, you’ll also be able to walk through half a billion years of plant evolutionary history, as UCD teams up with Bloom to create the UCD Evolution of Land Plants garden

Bloom In The Park,

This garden is divided up into areas including ‘Before Land Plants’ plus four key innovation sections which chart the evolution of plants through the cuticles, vascular systems, seeds and flowers systems. When the show is over at Bloom, this garden will be transferred to UCD  as a permanent outdoor classroom for the teaching of the evolution of plants and diversity of plant life on Earth. Quite spectacular and absolutely fascinating.

FOOD AT BLOOM

Food plays a very large part of the experience of a visit to Bloom each year. Good Food Ireland members will be gathering in the market tent at the Food Village, which includes a series of ‘markets’ showcasing fresh food, artisan and organic produce, meat, poultry, fish and ‘Best in Season’ fruit and vegetables.

Food at Bloom In The Park,

BLOOM FARMYARD

Kids will love the Bloom Farmyard, where they can meet familiar farmyard animals, including this year’s baby calves and lambs plus pigs and chickens. The Bloom Farmyard is part of an intiative by Bord Bia and Agri Aware, which gives kids the chance to see the beginnings of where our meat and dairy comes from and how it is produced. A great educational part of the event plus great family fun too.
